Vietnam Urban Planning and Development Association – English name: Vietnam Urban Planning and Development Association, abbreviated name is VUPDA, the Association was established under Decision No. 24/1998 / QD-TTg, issued by the Prime Minister. February 2, 1998. The Vietnam Urban Planning Association is a socio-professional organization that brings together people working in urban planning and development throughout the country, voluntarily striving for the purpose of construction and develop Vietnam’s urban areas in a sustainable manner, in the direction of industrialization and modernization. With the main role of a social criticism consultant, the Association operates nationwide, on the principle of complying with the provisions of the law, to contribute to building and protecting the Socialist Vietnam Fatherland.

Over the past 23 years of establishment and development, the Association has now had more than 7,000 members; 16 campus opportunities in provinces, cities, universities and research institutes (including 03 foreign collective members, JUNGDO UIT Group – Korea, POSCO A&C Company – Korea in Vietnam) and Western University, Shaanxi – China); 35 Collective members directly under the Central Association and Grassroots Association.

Vietnam Urban Planning Association is a member of Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations; is a member of the Asia-Pacific Urban and Regional Planning Association, consisting of 4 Planning Associations of Japan, Korea, Taiwan and Vietnam, working together in urban planning.

On July 19, 2023, Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue, Politburo member, Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam met with the Vietnam Urban Development Planning Association at the National Assembly House.
