Morning of July 28. The Vietnam Urban Development Planning Association (VUPDA), had an online discussion with the American Planning Association about cooperation between the two in urban planning. The seminar was attended by professors and senior experts of the two Associations.

At the Seminar, the participants heard the reports: Urban planning in the US, presented by Professor Bish Sanyal from Massachusetts Institute of Technology; Urban planning in Vietnam presented by Dr. Ngo Trung Hai, Vice President of VUPDA; Introduction of the Association with the roles, functions and activities of the 2 Associations; Reports on training in Urban Planning in the US presented by professors of Georgia Tech University; Urban Planning Training in Vietnam, presented by Dr. Tran Mai Anh, a lecturer at Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture.
The Vietnamese experts, in the Seminar, also raised issues that need to be cooperated, studied and experienced in training as well as urban development planning.
Concluding the discussion, Prof. Dr. Do Hau, Vice President of VUPDA and General Secretary, proposed the desired contents for cooperation between the two Associations of Vietnam and the United States in the future. Specifically, the two sides cooperate in the following activities:
Co-organizer of the Workshop: Co-organizing the workshop in two countries in the field of urban development planning and management. For example: urban planning, urban design, climate change, urban heritage conservation, urban development management…
Training cooperation: Exchange of teachers and students, planning: thematic reports, organizing summer courses, online courses, building training programs…
Organizing visits and surveys on urban planning
Scientific research collaboration: Searching for a project or topic to collaborate on research.
