On the morning of April 8, 2022, the Research Institute of Urban Planning and Development under the Vietnam Urban Development Planning Association (Association) held a scientific conference with the theme “The reality of the organization of agricultural space urban areas in Hanoi city”.
This is the second scientific conference, within the framework of the topic “Models and solutions to organize urban agricultural space in Hanoi city in the period of 2021-2030”. Subject by Prof. TS. KTS. Do Hau – Vice President and General Secretary of the Association is the chairman and the Hanoi Department of Science and Technology is the agency managing the project.
The workshop listened to presentations and reports on the status of urban agriculture development and the reality of urban agricultural space organization in the inner city, urbanized areas and peri-urban areas of Hanoi.
The presentations focused and analyzed the impacts of urbanization on the spatial organization of urban agriculture in Hanoi, the role of peri-urban agriculture in the link between rural and urban areas. The organization of urban agricultural space is not only a place to provide food, food and raw materials for industrial production, but also a green space, an expanded green corridor to improve the urban environment and create attraction between urban and rural areas.

The organization of urban agricultural space is not only an agricultural economic problem, but also poses problems in construction planning, land use planning and management of peri-urban areas. The proposal to study 3 different models of urban agricultural space organization for the inner city, the urbanized area and the peri-urban area is completely consistent with reality.
