Chairman of Long Thanh District People’s Committee said: the planning vision to 2030 is basically industrial development district; By 2040, it will become a center of modern urban areas, industry, international high-quality services, and by 2050, focus on improving urban quality and developing ecological urban models; is an area with good quality of life, harmony with the environment.
According to the plan, the specific functional area of Long Thanh airport has a regional scale of 9,260ha located in Cam Duong commune and a part of Long An, Long Phuoc, Binh Son and Bau Can communes. Particularly for an area of 5,000 hectares, Long Thanh airport is planned to have a capacity of serving 100 million passengers/year and 5 million tons of cargo/year when completed.
